Out with the old, in with the new

First of all, let me say "Thank you!" to the dozens of people who came to this year's storm spotting seminar at the Chicago/Rockford Int'l Airport tonight. What a wonderful group and terrific information from our friends Jim and Tim at the NWS Romeoville. Please don't forget that we can also get your reports into the NWS in an instant because WREX-TV has a live link to all NWS offices during severe weather events.

Next, I'd like to welcome you to our new weather blog Thursday. We have been training and tweaking the new look and we hope to have it up and running sometime during the afternoon...and with ice, thunderstorms, and snow in the forecast, it should be a good day to get it started! As always we welcome your input and comments as we move into the future.

Finally, another word of thanks because you have helped us make this blog so successful. If we didn't get so many wonderful comments every day, it would be harder for us to keep it going. So, here we go!

I look forward to the new blog. I visit this blog everyday even during boring weather days just to see what the 3 of you might post on here. Is there anyway that you can post an edit button on the comments part of the blog in case we read a comment that we posted and notice there is a spelling error or missed a few words. Keep up the great work.

The spotter training was awesome... It really got me anxious for spring and severe weather season. We still have a few weeks though unfortunately.

Justin where were you sitting. If you were looking around I was the person in the very back row in the red cubs shirt right across from where eric was doing his live shots. I wonder if any other bloggers were there also.

For some reason I thought that was you. Im not sure how I knew that, maybe you mentioned the cubs on here before or something. I was about 3/4 back all the way on the right wearing a dark blue hoodie.

spotters class was great. Judging by the crowd, Maybe we could intrest Eric in doing a general weather seminar at the PAC at BHS
